Just shot this near the marsh at my house. Can anyone tell me what kind of bird this is? I think it’s an Egret but when I googled “Egret” they don’t look like this.

This is a Great Blue Heron, and a scruffy looking one at that! (Sometimes you grab the shot when they are fluffing up their feathers, LOL! Actually, it is a great shot.)
I think it’s a “Little Blue Heron” because of his overall slate blue and the head plumage. A Great Blue Heron has a black stripe extending over the eye and a white foreneck streaked with black. Just a guess.
I think it’s a kind of rascally looking great blue heron. 😉

I’m going with the Great Blue Heron too. There are lots of them and Snowy Egrets that hang out at Essex Marina!
