It is a pleasure and a heck of a lot of fun working with you, Janice, Linn, Erika, Vickie and Peter on this committee. I think that by keeping the committee small and the event FREE is what makes the whole thing work! But where would we be without the dozens of friends like Donna A. & Rick M. and countless others and volunteers who come out to give us a hand…not to mention the citizens who actually get to participate in the fun of it all – THEY are what makes this event ROCK!!!
All councilors can’t be at all of the meetings all of the time – we bring information back and share information with the rest of the council as to what is going on and what is needed. The success of the DTBP 08 allowed a favorable vote by the full council to continue with the DTBP 09 Schedule – without the great showing and hard work of the entire DTBP Committee, this may not have happened again this year – the council realized what a great event this was last year FOR THE COMMUNITY, and it was only with their support and vote that we anxiously await the ’09 Parties! So I thank you and the DownTownBlockParty Committee, our retailers, restaurants, citizens, volunteers and the full City Council for making this a FUN, FREE FAMILY EVENT FOR THE ENTIRE COMMUNITY…. LET THE PARTY BEGIN!
