I gotta admit when I went to my first roller derby I thought that it was going to ge all fake with scripted fights and theatricals like professional wrestling. The theatricals are there by virtue of the outfits and announcers and all but the athletes that participate are very serious once they get on the track. The skaters are big time athletes and want to win. They are all giving 110%. This about as real a sport as you can get.
