PARTY SNAPSHOTS FROM MAYOR SEFATIA’S FABULOUS SCHOONER FESTIVAL WELCOME RECEPTION

The Mayor’s Schooner Festival Welcoming Reception was a fantastic success and wonderful fun. Maritime Gloucester’s dock was overflowing with Schooner Fest friends, well-wishers, and organizers. I think it was the most well attended ever and speaks to the growing success of Gloucester’s Schooner Festival (and to our Mayor’s charisma!).Mayor Sefatia welcomed Governor Baker, Lt. Governor Karen Polito, Schooner Bluenose II Captain Phil Watson and both Representative Ann Margaret Ferrante and State Senator Bruce Tarr were in attendance.

Fireworks Fund Asks For Donations

Suzanne Silveira Writes-

The Fireworks Committee is far behind in their goal to make this year’s Labor Day weekend fireworks the great show it always has been.  Thankful for donations received, they are urging those that have not contributed to do so now.  All donations, big or small, will be gratefully appreciated.  Contributions are tax deductible and can be sent to The Gloucester Fund, 45 Middle St., Gloucester, MA  01930.  Please note Fireworks Fund on your donation.

The Cape Ann Marina under the tent will host a fundraiser for the Lighted Boat Parade on Friday, August 27th from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM.  The cost for the evening is $10 and includes some great food and music.  There will be a cash bar.  The Lighted Boat Parade held the Saturday night of Labor Day weekend is such a fun event and provides great scenes on the harbor leading up to the fireworks.  This is a community happening and needs your support.  Questions for the fundraiser can be directed to 978-281-0434

Christmas Parade Info From Suzanne Silveira

From Suzanne Silveira-
Joe – I’m trying to help Joe Ciolino get the word out.  Can you help???????   If you could do something on your blog, that would be great!!

The annual Christmas Parade this year on November 29th is being organized by Joe Ciolino and others. Parade organizers are looking for Christmas themed floats and bands. The parade will start at 3:15 this year from the State Fish Pier. It will end at Kent Circle and will be followed by the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony. People and floats can begin to line up at around 2:00 PM.

Anyone interested in making donations to make this annual event successful can do so by sending donations in care of the Gloucester Fund, 45 Middle Street, Gloucester, MA 01930. Please enter “Santa Parade” on the memo line.

Help pass the word about the Parade to others as time is short. This is a community event and needs community support. For any questions, please contact Joe Ciolino directly at 978-281-1227.
