OTHER NEWS FROM ARTS ABOUND

One never knows what each day is going to bring…that’s a fact that we all know
and live with. However, even with that knowledge, some days can throw us for
a loop! I had one of those days on September 20th. I am an avid cyclist; while I
was pedaling along, a driver, blinded by the afternoon sun, smashed right into
me and caused quite a bit of damage to my body. I was airlifted to a trauma
center and spent a while in the hospital. I am home now but still have a bit of
recovery to do. In the meanwhile, I have been blessed to have friends,
especially Kathy, Donna, Laurinda and Karen, and family help me out in
numerous ways. Some of these people, and even a few customers, have been
running the gallery for me. I recently started to work in the gallery again and
have been overwhelmed with all the support I have received. Definitely a silver
lining! Thank you all for all you are doing to help out and for your patience while
I reduce my hours for a bit so that I can get well. It takes a village and Magnolia
is just that place!
Peace to you all, Sue Wheeler, owner

GREAT GIFTS

Christine’s gorgeous hand-painted silk jacket makes a perfect gift!

Riding the Storm – cold wax and oil painting by Sue Wheeler

Donna’s towels continue to sell like crazy. Wouldn’t they make a perfect gift for
a friend or your grandchildren who visit Magnolia? Donna, our Featured Artist,
continues to help us with running the gallery

Tin Can Sally always amazes us with her earrings, made out of tin cans from all
over the world. She has also recently add beautiful fall leaf pins made out of
aluminum cans!

Laurinda has been a huge help in the shop lately. In addition to her marketing
skills, she is an amazing wildlife photographer and sells her cards at Arts
Abound

Iona’s gold grass jewelry, made from protected Brazilian grass that is allowed
to be cut only in September, continues to sell well

Lisa’s gorgeous pottery makes wonderful gifts…we have her mugs, berry bowls,
vases, bowls and more. Karen’s painting, in the background, enhances any
wall!

Themed gift baskets are a terrific gift—we can add and subtract items to fit your
budget. This lobster-themed basket is a sure hit for folks who love their
crustaceans!

WE’VE GOT YOU COVERED!

Arts Abound continues to sell many masks! We use super cute fabrics as
seen above. Purchase the masks when you visit our gallery or preorder via the
web link below. We are starting to introduce fall fabrics, including one featuring
the New England Patriots and another with the Celtics.

Hi Joey

ONE NIGHT ONLY: mark your calendars, November 28th is just 11 days away. Here is the latest roster poster for the 1st Thanksgiving Break POP UP fair at the HIVE, Gloucester’s amazing downtown arts center.  Can’t wait to see what these young local artists do!

Love the local all that day. Saturday, November 28th, is ‘Small Business Saturday’ – marketing, yes, but as opposed to Black Friday and Cyber Monday, why not? Support our businesses. SHOP SMALL downtown, stop by the Hive to see and shop more from 4-8, and then head out to eat or restaurant hop.
