My View of Life on the Dock
Rafe’s Chasm is a wonderful place to walk. There is always something to see.

Went over to the State Pier after the rain and saw this seagull on the roof of a moving car.

Walking on a windy and cold day.

Dancing in the ocean with the seagull watching, by the way, my daughter Kimberly was having such a good time.

Relaxation as well at the ocean

This seagull was very happy with their catch of the day.

The seagull looks like it is looking for some good food on a Memorial Day weekend.

This amazing family was in the parking lot at Good Harbor Beach. They had collected a trash bag full of garbage from around the lot. Dad Robert explained that because they love Good Harbor Beach so much, and go often during the summer, they wanted to give back.
Our DPW does an incredible job keeping the beach and lot clean however, it’s impossible for any one entity to keep up with the amount of litter that happens on our beaches. It takes a village, and it is people like Sveltana, Dimitri, and Robert that are making a real difference.
*Although I wrote down the names of the kids, somehow the message to myself was deleted. I think their names are spelled correctly, but if not, please write. Thank you 🙂

Carry In, Carry Out
Photographing shorebirds early today and this Homie arrives on the scene, loudly announcing his catch. Before I could turn on my movie camera, he swallowed the whole lobster, in one big gulp! You could see the sharp edges of the lobster as it went down his gullet. I predict a Homie with a tummy ache.
The tremendous variety of seaweed currently covering Pebble Beach captures a wealth of sustenance for migrating shorebirds (and Homies).

“Polly-Five-Toe the Gull” started visiting the Thomas E. Lannon in 2014, it returned again this year. Capt. Heath has become friends with “Polly-5-Toe” as you can see in the slide show below. Polly-5-Toe loves oyster crackers and sits on the back of the Lannon, or on Capt. Heath’s hand to enjoy her crackers.
