Like how the Paint Factory is framed by the Flag and the Ernestina?
Ernestina Heads Out To Make “Official” Return, originally uploaded by captjoe06.
I headed down early yesterday morning to get some footage of The Ernestina while in port. Thanks to Damon I got the heads up that she was in. I didn’t understand the crew’s reluctance to let me aboard until later when I found out that she supposed to make a “Grand” entrance with escorts and all later that morning.
Here the skipper readies her to leave the harbor so they could make a formal entrance an hour or so later.
Our friend Damon helping out the sailboats that are at the floating dock off the State Fish Pier. One of the boats #13 capsized while practicing near the Paint Factory. The two kids in the boat righted it themselves and climbed aboard all were safe. The Coast Guard was just checking too see if they were all right.

Last night Joey posted an amazing walk-through video of the Paint Factory from last September.
For those of you who don’t get the Gloucester Daily Times or read it online, this article ran yesterday and will give you a good idea of the latest happenings concerning the Paint Factory.
On September 23, 2008 Mark Teiwes and I were granted special access to the Paint Factory. We documented it’s final state before the sterilization for the general public would take place.

Just thought I’d update the decay at The Paint Factory.
Still rotting away?
Yep.

The Paint Factory isn’t looking so good.
It’s too bad that the guy that proposed to make a residence out of the place and maintain the exterior exactly the way it is wasn’t allowed to. Otherwise instead of deteriorating like this, it could have been preserved for all of us to enjoy and payed for with private dollars.
The obstructionists that got in the way can rejoice in another project they stymied.
Hooray!
