Judith Sargent Murray ‎Love Notes: The Love Letters of Judith Sargent Murray and John Murray, A Timeless American Love Story Set to Music @ The North Shore Folklore Theatre Company 169 Main Street. Gloucester, Ma

John Murray is known as the Father of Organized Universalism in America, and was a charismatic, handsome firebrand who preached love, kindness and virtue, sometimes at his peril.

And Judith Sargent Murray is considered the most important female essayist of 18th-century America and a founding Universalist. She challenged the new American nation to be virtuous, fair, and philanthropic; to improve female education, respect women’s abilities, and allow them to participate as full citizens.

The couple was often separated and exchanged hundreds of letters. Their love story is timeless and compelling.

The event has been scheduled at 5:30 p.m. to give you plenty of time to enjoy a lovely Valentine’s Day meal before or after!
