Nichols has vintage chocolate molds to celebrate every season. One year as a surprise, Barbara Nichols made me a very special Scotty dog, made from one of their antique molds. She’ll make one for you, too, by special order. The bunny in the foreground is made from a vintage mold.

I love the look of this very old gas fired stove. It has an extremely powerful flame and within seconds of Don igniting, the water was boiling hot. Today when stopping by to pick up gifts for the family, Don Gibbons was making penuche fudge. As the penuche was heating and setting up in a great copper pot he was giving the batter a frequent stir and keeping a watchful eye. In case you are wondering, penuche (panucci in Italian) is chocolate-less fudge, made typically with brown sugar, milk, butter, and vanilla. The brown sugar lends penuche its warm maple-butterscotch hues.

Barbara Nichols wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas!
Nichols was humming today, filling orders for customers near and far. My father-in-law always puts in a request for their freshly roasted mixed nuts as do my sister-in-law and Mom adore Nichols’s fudge, all four flavors! And it goes without saying that their homemade chocolate treats make wonderful stocking stuffers.
Nichols has terrifically convenient shopping hours, particularly if you are in a pinch (for that always much appreciated chocolate hostess/host gift). They are open seven days a week, Monday through Saturday, from 9am to 8pm and Sunday, from 10am to 6pm.
