Do you ever drive by those windows and find yourself thinking, “How do they come up with new and relevant phrases every single day? I always look forward to seeing what is in the windows at Howard’s Flying Dragon Antiques. Some days write themselves….but, surely other days they must have to dig deep to find something to spell. Must kind of feel like doing blog posts each day.

Cozy Lunch at the Azorean

We met friends for lunch at the Azorean on Washington St recently. We were greeted like old friends, served efficiently and allowed to enjoy a leisurely visit with our friends. It’s a great spot for dinner OR lunch! Jim had the fish sandwich, I had a burger and our friends had mousse for dessert. As a bonus, I tried the Irish Coffee on Irish Coffee Day and I’ll be having another someday. I don’t always think of the Azorean for lunch, but it’s at the top of my list now!

The bar at Tonno is waiting for you. “Dirty Italian Martini” Ryan & Wood Vodka, Olive Juice, Prosciutto & Provolone Stuffed Pepper.

Blizzard Came and Went — pat morss

Despite all the hype about the “bomb cyclone” blizzard of 2022, we were fortunate to weather it fine without losing power. Nice fluffy snow when it was over. This was our weekend timeline:

“White sun at night” did not lead to a “sailor’s delight”
We checked in with the seals, and they were nonchalant
Filled up on cerrystone clams at Tonno
Confirmed we were well stocked with thistle & sunflower seeds
Tried to watch the Nor’easter’s waves, but there was a white-out
Next morning, windblown snow (whale surfacing – center)?
A pristine view at breakfast
The front door before shoveling out
And after
Took our daily walk
A pretty winter day – with a Bloody Mary to follow

I’m So Happy The Chiefs (Mahomes) and Packers (Rodgers) Are Out Of The Playoffs.

DPW snow removal crews will be continuing work on snow removal on Main Street and Dale Avenue Monday evening, January 31 beginning at 11:00PM. 

There will be NO PARKING on Main Street and Dale Avenue from 11:00PM January 31st until 7:00AM February 1st.
