Egret Beauty

Although I cannot seem to stop taking the photos of egrets, I am often disappointed in the results. But we came upon this beauty near Goose Cove under “partly cloudy” skies so I think these do better justice to this gorgeous bird.

Chief Eric Smith is pleased to report that the Gloucester Fire Department is providing all personnel with refresher extrication training this month to better prepare firefighters to quickly and safely free individuals trapped in motor vehicles.
All on-duty personnel will receive training led by Fire Prevention and Training Officer Deputy Chief Barry Aptt.
The training covers the use of hydraulic tools and cribbing, giving firefighters a chance to practice their skills ahead of an actual rescue response.
The training is being conducted at Tally’s Truck Center on Pond Road. Tally’s is also providing vehicles for the training.
“We are grateful to Tally’s Truck Center for supporting our efforts to be prepared for the emergencies we face here in Gloucester,” said Chief Smith. “Extricating someone quickly from a car following an accident is an important skill, and one that we often need to use when lives are on the line, so this training is vitally important. We work hard in our downtime at Gloucester Fire to be ready for the times when there are emergencies.”
