Gloucester vs Barrington ~ Championship game, Cape Ann Savings Bank Tournament 12/28/2023 (Replay)

We took a ride to Parker River National Wildlife Refuge a couple of days ago just to see what there is to see. We came across a hawk feasting as well as what my Merlin bird app told me was an American Bittern (apparently a somewhat rare sighting). We also saw a hawk resting atop the “Pink House”, a sight which is endangered as it’s being considered for removal.

A POEM BY BOB ALVES

She waits for those – Who cannot return
They she gave port – seasons past and once again
She looks back and leaves not without remembrance, for etched are the names – Knelt at the entrance
She is a warm blanket, providing comfort and alike
Well read, silently-still, amid promise – watching leaders voice in the lights
Though garments worn while seasons pass become frail – Life’s renewing cause, She inertly hales
For She will live long and has been taught
Comforted by garments of eld, provides not
A Nor-easter, a heartfelt sigh
The clouds forewarn, some may die
It is now We, silently watched with a grin
She waits for those – Who cannot return
They She gave port – seasons past – and once again

It may have been gray day on Wednesday but the reflection at Gloucester Harbor was peaceful.

Heading out on a foggy December morning.

I am happy to share greetings from Cat Cavallini: “Here’s to hoping whatever holds us back in the new year will breakthrough like the sun in the fog this morning!” (photos from Cat)
