Maybe you’re thinking about sprucing up your yard now that spring is upon us. These garden flags from Pat D’s Photos (available at 44 Main St as well) might be just the ticket. Several different images are available, these are just a few. Many are local images (such as our very own Back Shore Snowy) and these make a lovely addition to your yard or porch. They are sturdy vinyl about 12″ x 18″ and printed on both sides. They are ready to hang (I even have some extra yard flag holders if you need them) and would also make an easy to travel or mail gift! So many sweet canines prance past our window at the shop at 44 Main St that I thought it would be fun to capture just a few of them: Ronan, Bodie, Freya (so cute and enthusiastic that there are 2 photos) and Jelly of interstate media fame. Gloucester is indeed a Dog Town.

On Saturday, May 4 from 6:30pm-8:30pm, people of all ages are welcome to a Trivia Night Fundraiser
for the Gloucester Student Band at Trinity Congregational Church, 70 Middle St. in Gloucester, MA.
The theme for this Trivia Night is music from movies and television. Questions will be based on clips
of songs played live by the Gloucester Student Band (GSB). Teams of 1-4 people will compete for
prizes. Snacks and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase and there will be a 50/50
raffle. Doors open at 6:30pm. Trivia begin promptly at 7pm and should last about 90 minutes. A team
of 1-2 people costs $30, and a team of 3-4 people costs $60. Tickets and more information are

All funds raised during the event will help GSB go on tour this summer. The group will be traveling to
New Hampshire for two days and one night to play several concerts, including at nursing homes, at a
Manchester Fishercats Baseball Game, and at Canobie Lake Park.

Gloucester Student Band is a new 501c3 nonprofit group of student musicians in grades 5-12 who live
in Gloucester. The mission of GSB is to give students an opportunity to enhance their musical abilities
outside of school and to share their love of music with the community by offering musical
performances.

GSB is a proud recipient of an Awesome Gloucester Foundation grant, and has performed at a variety
of locations including the Fishtown Horribles Parade of Trees, Lobster Trap Tree Lighting,
Gloucester 400 New Year’s Eve Ball Drop at City Hall, Ipswich River Watershed Association Paddle-a-
thon, GHS Racial Equity Event, Annisquam 4th of July Bike Parade, Magnolia Community Farmer’s
Market, and The Bluebird Performance Venue.
