As always, music seven days per week…with two shows on Fridays and Saturdays. Come for one show….or come for them all. Kitchen open and drinks pouring.

The planned boring operation in Blynman Canal is underway and expected to continue today. It seemed to intrigue many passers-by. More info can be found at the Harbormaster’s Facebook page or here.

City of Gloucester Enhances Beach Accessibility with New Mobi-mats and MobiChairs
Investing in Inclusive Spaces to Ensure Beach Access for All Residents and Visitors
The City of Gloucester is pleased to announce the installation of additional handicap accessible Mobi-mats and the acquisition of new MobiChairs to enhance beach accessibility for all residents and visitors.
The City purchased three additional Mobi-mats that will be distributed between Good Harbor Beach and Wingaersheek Beach. These mats will significantly improve access for individuals with mobility challenges, making it easier for everyone to navigate the sandy terrain.
In addition to the Mobi-mats, the City has also acquired four new MobiChairs, specially designed beach wheelchairs, to be made available at the major beaches.
The first of the new Mobi-mats for Good Harbor Beach will be installed the week before Memorial Day, just in time for the start of the summer season. The new Mobi-mats and wheelchairs have been funded through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds appropriated by Mayor Greg Verga.
Mayor Verga explained, “Our beaches are a cherished part of Gloucester, and it’s essential that everyone, regardless of physical ability, can access and enjoy them. These new Mobi-mats and MobiChairs are a significant step toward making our community more inclusive. I am proud of the progress we are making and grateful for the support provided by the ARPA funds.”

The Lannon to the left and the Ardelle to the right. I love watching Gloucester Harbor.

Sharing some good news from Minglewood. Another sure sign of summer…..

I was out on the water for the whale watch and had the opportunity to take some photos of Half Moon Beach from the water. A few days later, I also got some shots from land (including 2 intrepid plein air painters). Thought you might enjoy the perspectives.

Came back from vacation a big fat sack of fatness. The digital scale don’t lie-

Put on 18 lbs since January but more notable 12 lbs since April 9th. With boating season right around the corner it’s time to buckle down. Short term goal is 195.
How will we do it? This is what has worked in the past with good results.
Morning Fast. No food til 11AM. Power Tea from Shore Nutrition or Coffee and or water til 11 every day. Sensible lunch. Sensible Dinner. No chips, fries, pizza, cookies, nachos.
A solid protein for lunch with some vegies. Meal prep if I can.
After 4 days- Down 6 lbs.

Yesterday’s meal prep-

Ground beef with peppers and onions (all on sale at Stop and Shop)
Rafe’s Chasm is a wonderful place to walk. There is always something to see.
