Over the Bridge at the Blackburn Brewfest

The weather might not have been 100% but Over the Bridge sure was. Check them out at @OTBTUNES or https://otbtunes.com/ The whole Brewfest was fantastic. If you didn’t attend this year or if you had tickets and the weather kept you away, make a point to go next year. It’s really a fantastic event. More photos to come later.

Save The Date Fish Shack Funraiser Concert

I noticed this sign at Lane’s Cove and it sounds like a fun event. Saturday Oct 5 at Lane’s Cove Road. Also a view of the fish shack through the window. I always like going down there for a look-around.

This past Tuesday the 100 Women Who Care Cape Ann Awarded The Gloucester Boxing Club $11,000.00.

Peter Cannavo writes:
The 100 Women Who Care is an organization committed to helping local Non Profits in our community. 100 women pool in $100 or more and tally up $10,000.00 every quarter and select three Non Profits and them give a 5 minute oral presentation followed up with 5 minutes of questions. Tuesday evening, Vice President-Peter Cannavo and board director/Trainer Adrian Gedney gave their speech on how the money would impact the youth in our community by providing a free safe environment where they can work on self development, humility, respect and hard work. All through a 100 percent volunteer base group of individuals who commit their time to give back to the community. The Gloucester Boxing Club has been serving our community for over 10 years. The Club couldn’t have been happier with the results. The Boxing club will continue to be the cornerstone of this community in developing athletes by taking a holistic approach to boxing all while feeling apart of a brotherhood and sisterhood. Thank you.

Enjoying a Nor’easter — pat morss

Actually, it was well offshore, but it created some swells.

I expected surfers at Brace Cove, but they had a different idea about conditions.
However, there were hundreds of gulls foraging for food in the waves.
The surf was churning up the ecosystem near the beach.
The gulls were skimming over the wave crests and landing to feed.
They repeated the pattern, flying above each retreating swell.
Mostly Laughing Gulls, with Black-backed, Herring and Ring-billed mixed in.
Later Saturday afternoon, Adventure headed out with a “bone in her teeth.”
The swells were larger out by the whistle buoy off Eastern Point lighthouse.
It must have been an awakening for some of the guests.
A sense of normal conditions on the Grand Banks, if 40-degrees colder.
Probably enough of this for now.
Tacking. “Ready about.” “Hard a-lee.”
It’s nice to see Adventure in her element.
Now a smoother ride back into Gloucester Harbor.
