The Outsidah is Doug Brendel, who writes humorous commentary on life in small-town New England from the standpoint of a newcomer.
His columns appear at Outsidah.com, at NorthShoreLocalNews.com, and in the Ipswich Chronicle.
Every year, Doug publishes all his columns, plus cartoons, in book form.
Color Me Ipswich features the past year’s worth of “Outsidah” columns,
but this year it’s also a coloring book!
And yes, there will be crayons!
Doug will perform Ipswich humor from the book …
Copies will be available for sale and autographs …
Refreshments will be served …

Artist’s Statement :Fishing and the sea have defined Gloucester for centuries. The sights and smells of the water and boats are everywhere. I love roaming the docks in Gloucester to see what’s happening and perhaps capture a compelling image. These photographs attempt to convey some of the unique marine flavor of Gloucester – especially the rugged beauty of the city’s pride, its fishing boats. And a few shots of the wide horizon’s grander view as well. My focus is on light, color and pleasing patterns, on large or small scale.
