CEDAR ROCK GARDENS, WOLF HILL, AND MARSHALL’S FARM STAND ARE FULLY STOCKED AND READY FOR MOTHER’S DAY!

While out and about organizing jobs for my landscape design clients with my newest assistant Charlotte, we were planning to take more photos, but it was too dreary. Believe me when I write, all three of our fantastic local nurseries are bursting with beautiful plants and garden ornaments that would make wonderful gifts for Moms, and all the special ladies in your life. The weather forecast for tomorrow is mostly sunny and mid-fifties, perfect weather for plant shopping.

New assistant, Charlotte, and best mother’s helper, our Radio Flyer COLLAPSIBLE wagon!

Dunes on beautiful Wingaersheek Beach

Took a walk over at Wingaersheek Beach on Thursday.  The sun was out and the feel of summer was in the air.

Thank You, Gunner Muth

Episode 92-(on location)

For the past 23 years, Gunner Richard Muth has educated thousands of teenagers on the North Shore as an Iinstructor for the MCJROTC at Gloucester High School (aside from a year or two in Lynn).

This is his final year as an Educator/Instructor/Mentor at GHS. Prior to this, he served his country in the United States Marine Corps for 20+ years as an Infantry Instructor before retiring. Not knowing what to expect teaching high school students, he embarked on a decades-long journey that has left an impressionable impact on students and colleagues alike. B-Side even got a little help honoring Gunner from some friends.

B-Side sits down with Richard Muth to talk about his 23 years as an educator; what it has meant to him, and what it is like to teach teenagers of Gloucester. He even confirms that B-Side did, in fact, throw a desk (but don’t worry—the statute of limitations is over).

Gunner Muth would also like to invite the public to join them in celebration on Thursday May 16th at 6pm in the auditorium for the ROTC Awards Night to honor those students for their achievements for the school year.

It was Military Appreciation Month as well as National Teacher Appreciation Week during this recording.

Alicia Unleashed would like to also thank to following for their participation in this recording:
Rick Moore, Lisa Cusumano Gray, Kayla Pinkham, Kara Wagner, Sarah Bondarev, Jen Duston, Jessica Gross, Aaron Smith, Annette Parco, Chris Severance, Jon Blair, and Peter Cannavo.

Gunner,

I cannot begin to express the amount of gratitude I have for you as an educator because, let’s be real, you were unlike any other teacher I’d ever had. You were patient, tolerant, funny, and had different, undetectable ways of teaching us life lessons. While I was part of your formative years when you were getting your feet wet as a “teacher of teens,” and we tested your limits every chance we could get, you are still the same Gunner you were in ’96. The impact that you have left on your students runs deep. Without you, I believe I never would have survived through or graduated from high school. Thank you, Gunner, for your Service, both to our Country and to us Students.

Crease that Uni one last time and then hang it up. Congratulations on your retirement; you’ve earned it.

Be the Reason Someone Smiles Today

Be the reason someone smiles today.  I know that the whole “random act of kindness” thing isn’t exactly new and that no one really needs me telling them to spread cheer, but I wanted to tell you a super quick little story anyway….

Yesterday, a person who I adore and respect immeasurably left me a voice message thanking me for something that I did….that, really wasn’t a very big deal at all.  In his message he told me how special it was and called me a, “Bloody Star.”  I mean, come on.  It totally made me smile and, quite honestly, made my day.

So, be someone’s little boost today. Be the reason someone smiles unexpectedly today. Shoot a super nice text, send an email letting someone know that you appreciate them, leave a super nice voice mail….or, better even still, tell someone in person how great they are.  Make someone’s day.

If, by chance, someone does something nice for you or makes you smile by surprise, feel free to tell us about it here.  Good stuff.

Now Three Osprey Eggs and the Bruins won!

By puck drop last night Mama Osprey was skating on three eggs. Now the wait begins. Who finishes first? By June 15 there may be a Bruin Stanley Cup Trophy and three baby osprey. The over/under is set now for June 9, I’ll take the over.

Rotating her stock at 5 PM before the puck dropped. 3 eggs! Hard to see since she covers them as well as Tuukka.

Bruins score first goal and Dougie has the sads.
