Cape Ann offers an amazing variety of dining options, varied in both atmosphere and cuisine. Among the most popular are these very casual restaurants where the atmosphere seems unrefined but the food astounds. With only love and absolutely no disparagement, I refer to them as “fine shack dining”…..Woodman’s aptly calls it eating “in the rough”. This represents only a selection of what’s available on Cape Ann.

I want to invest in this company. It’s disruptive the way UBER and AirBNB are. #gamechanger
Remember on this date July 12, 2019 Joey Ciaramitaro told you about Dockwa and if there was a way to invest in Dockwa I would because it’s going to be huge. I’m just leaving this dated note here to look back on when it goes public at a bajillion times whatever it’s worth right now.

This Saturday July 13th is the annual Blackburn Challenge Race around Cape Ann. This is a 22 plus mile rowing race. We will be having four of the IDRC race boats and two practice boat in the event. The event starts at 8 AM in the Annisquam river. The racers travel up the river towards the Ipswich bay, around Halibut Point, through Straitsmouth, along long and good harbor beaches, past eastern point light house and finishes at the Greasy Pole at Pavilion beach. If you have free time make your way to the water around Cape Ann to cheer on our racers.
With this said the four race boats and two practice boats will not be available Saturday until after 2 pm. Some of the race boats will be moved Friday afternoon. If there is a race boat at the dock in the morning please do not take it for a row. Sorry for the inconvenience this may cause anyone. Thank you very much for your cooperation on this day.
Best of Luck to the racers

This month we’re fortunate to have Catherine Zucker of the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics as our guest speaker. Catherine will show us how we have begun to derive accurate distance measurements to large, star-forming molecular clouds in the Milky Way galaxy, and what that means for astronomy.
Why go to all this trouble? Obtaining accurate distance measurements to molecular clouds is important for understanding the star and planet formation process. The advent of large photometric surveys and theGaiamission offer an unprecedented opportunity to derive the distances and properties of hundreds of millions of stars, as well as the molecular clouds between them.
Without resorting to scary math, Catherine will explain how we have combined these data with statistical methods to create a new 3D map of molecular clouds in the solar neighborhood (the nearest 10,000 lightyears). As it turns out, these phenomena are surprisingly interrelated — using interactive visualization software…
