Group discussion regarding what we all think we know about what pineapples symbolize. Who already knows pineapples can be a symbol for swingers? Pat Dalpiaz may be the only one that did not know this?
Always something to look at from the deck. In the last couple of days: One of a family of deer in the Audubon land at Eastern Point; USCG barque Eagle back and forth, here in the haze headed back into Salem for weekend festivities; sunset with Great Britain floating over the lighthouse.

Sunday, looks like a beautiful day for the Magnolia Community Farmers’ Market. Have a great breakfast at Sherry’s Corner Café and stroll Lexington Avenue for fresh food, veggies and great local gifts. Also this week, the Cape Ann animal aid will be there with some cuties up for adoption. Hope to see you all there. Thank you.

It was time for me to take some of our friend Donna Ardozzoni’s advice and go to the beach. I’m a sit-by-the-water-in-a-chair-with-a-book kind of beach goer and I decided to go down to Half Moon Beach at Stage Fort Park: lots of parking, easily accessible, and beautiful. Plus (bonus) the Farmers Market was setting up! Deep breaths and seawater washing my toes cured any grumpiness I might have been feeling. And it is always fun to people-watch.

From the tiniest pinhead-sized eggs hatched quarter-inch caterpillars. A month later and these gorgeous Cecropia Moth caterpillars (30!) are approximately five to six inches in length and 3/4 of an inch in diameter.
Halibut Point Quarry was transformed in late July by the Dušan Týnek Dance Theatre who bedazzled the landscape in saffron and mustard yellow costumes and took center stage for a moment in time. Perched like birds on the quarry cliffs, first hovering, then gliding and cascading, the dancers interfaced with the seagulls in brilliant choreographic tandem! Windhover Performing Arts Center has produced eight quarry dances so far, and each one is unique and site-specific, utilizing the characteristics of each particular quarry landscape. All of us who were present at a performance witnessed the art of dance and music enlivened by nature… a perfect trio!
Those who missed it this year, stay tuned for more live dance happenings this summer when Windhover Performing Arts Center hosts the Paul Taylor 2 Dance Company starting Wednesday, September 4–Saturday, September 7, 2019.
