We once again invite you to attend the 8th annual Ales Over ALS: A Crafter’s Delight that will be celebrated in scenic Essex at the Shipbuilding Museum where the town and museum both take full pride in all things locally crafted from farm, sea and brew kettle. All proceeds from this fundraising event will go directly to Compassionate Care ALS (CCALS), in support of people living with ALS.The afternoon will be highlighted by a homebrewing competition set in the historic museum. The event will feature hand-crafted beers from home brewers that will be judged by special guests as well as by fundraiser attendees.
The beer that wins the judges’ competition will be brewed on the pilot system and served in the taproom or our premier sponsor the brand new Great Marsh Brewing Company on the Essex causeway. All proceeds from the sale of the winning beer will be donated to support CCALS.
Food will once again be provided by: Woodman’s of Essex

Iggy’s Bread
Brewing Sponsors: Great Marsh Brewing Company, Essex, MA
Ipswich Ale Brewery, Ipswich, MA

We once again would not be able to host the event without the generous participation of the North Shore Brewers.
The scenery of fall on the Essex river in the setting of the Essex Shipbuilding Museum is highlighted by our seven-year sponsor Aster B. Flowers of Essex, MA. Your support helps make the event both rustic and beautiful.
Online tickets are on sale until Friday, October 25th at midnight. Advance ticket purchase is highly encouraged.
The event is once again on the same day as the Essex Clamfest. Parking at the center of town will be limited until 3-4pm. Ales over ALS supporters are welcome to park down the street at Woodman’s of Essex. Please be aware that we will keep the spots near the museum reserved for handicapped attendees.
We can’t wait to see you and once again thank you for your generous support.
All the best,
Ales over ALS team

I spent the weekend chasing butterflies and will post more about the historical migration we are currently experiencing, along with the fantastic Monarch celebration at The Stevens Coolidge Place in Andover, when I have more than a few moments to write a post.
And I discovered several more of the magical butterfly trees that the migrating Monarchs roost in on cooler nights, and figured out how to find them!!! More about that in a future post, too 🙂
Butterfly tree at day’s end.

Great time over at Marshall’s Farm Stand on Saturday for the Magnolia Fundraiser craft show and then to the Topsfield Fair on Sunday. Today I am itchy and little wheezing from loving the animals.
