Jon Butcher, Fly Amero and Allen Estes Saturday DEC 7th 8pm @ Shalin Liu Performance Center

A special upcoming event you’re not gonna want to miss.

There are still some tix left for our Shalin Liu show this coming Saturday… but not

many!  Now’s the time to get ’em. I’ve been told Mayor Sefatia will be in attendance,

along with Senator Bruce Tarr – and perhaps even Governor Charlie Baker!  But it is

most assuredly Jon Butcher, Allen Estes myself who plan on tickling your hearts with

holiday love and spirit.  You’re just gonna have to be there, my friends!  HAPPY HOLIDAYS! ~ Fly

NOTE: Not depicted on the poster (an innocent oversight on our part, apologies), the great
Sal Baglio of The Stompers will be the opener! He can tickle, too! I promise! ~ Fly

Looking forward…..to seeing you there Fly 🙂

Boxwood Tree Event at the Beauport

Audrey’s Flowers sponsored another fantastic floral arrangement event last night at the Beauport. This time we built and decorated our own boxwood tree complete with Beauport service (thanks Matt and Kevin). About 80 women participated and everyone left with a lovely tree. Heather and her staff did another outstanding job! I was joined by three sisters Katey, Maryanne and Jane and they were great company. It really helped get me into the holiday spirit.

Karen Tusinski One-Artist Show

December 7 – 31, 2019
Opening Reception: Saturday, December 7th, 2 – 4 PM

An exhibition of oil, acrylic and mixed media paintings by artist Karen Tusinski will open in the Marguerite Pearson Room of the Rockport Art Association & Museum (RAA&M) on Saturday, December 7th with an artist’s reception from 2 – 4 PM. The exhibition will be on view Saturday, December 7 – Tuesday, December 31.

Karen Tusinski subscribes to the natural contrast found in our world.  Geometric and organic form play together in each piece, combining in an energized abstraction. Common themes include bright poppies in a variety of color schemes, pebble strewn beaches with tranquil seas, and reoccurring circular patterns in both abstracts and expressive still lifes. Tusinski’s work offers pleasing tonal relationships through common motifs and patterns inspired by nature. Her keen observation of the seemingly ordinary allows the viewer a new lens to hold against everyday images.

Karen Tusinski is the owner of the Tusinski Gallery in Rockport and is an artist member of the Rockport Art Association & Museum and the Newburyport Art Association. She received a B.F.A. in Painting from Montserrat College of Art in 1998 and attended Montserrat’s Viterbo, Italy Summer Program. Tusinski is a featured artist at Jules Place in Boston and also exhibits her artwork in numerous galleries throughout the country.

Pick #1:  Santa Arrives in Rockport

Saturday, December 7th beginning at 1:00 pm

It doesn’t get more “New England quaint” than this.  Like a scene from a perfect holiday movie is Christmas in Rockport.

Santa will arrive by lobster boat at Rockport’s T-Wharf on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at 1:00 PM. After carefully navigating his way off the boat and up onto T-Wharf, Santa will climb up onto a Rockport Forest Fire truck and parade across the street to Rockport Baptist Church.

Santa will be available to have photos taken with the children at the church until the Tree Lighting Ceremony begins. At 4:00 pm, Santa will head over to Dock Square to greet the crowd and kick off the Tree Lighting festivities, before climbing back onto the fire truck to begin his long return journey to the North Pole.

Magic 106.7  and HOOD will be in Harvey Park playing Christmas music and handing out eggnog samples from 12:30 – 3:45 PM.

Rockport Santa Arrives 1PM Saturday December 7

I’ll post soon (Friday) the details and history of why the real Santa rides a boat into Rockport this Saturday at 1 PM. I’ll just link to Les Bartlett’s five part series on Rockport Santa. (It’s where I got the photo.)

Here is an actual photo of real live Santa in the early years when Rockport Harbormaster Shorty Lesch would head north with eggnog to coax the round one to get in the boat and shortly after Santa  would saunter onto Front Beach.
