Generous Gardeners

Reblogged from Generous Gardeners newsletter

Generous Gardeners will be selling extra dahlia tubers from the Stacy Boulevard gardens.  They are a great deal for wonderful varieties at $10 each or 2 for $15.  We have many dinnerplate and other showy varieties available as well as the tried and true that make great cut flowers.

Support the Boulevard gardens and have a beautiful garden yourself this year.  We will sell until sold out, but come early for the best selection!

This Week at The Cut!

 ~ THE CUT LIVE

This Friday Little Lies – A Tribute to Fleetwood Mac – returns to The Cut stage! The seats sold out so fast, that we’ve gone ahead and added more. Link below.

We’ve also added a new show, and it’s one you don’t want to miss! Closet Case presents, VIVA LA VAMP on the Thursday of Fiesta (June 26th). Tickets are on sale Wednesday (6/4) at 10am, and we’re expecting them to go quickly. This show is part classic drag show, part burlesque show, part performance-art and ALL fun! We’re turning up the HEAT on The Cut stage, and everyone’s going to be talking about it.

Going forward Little Sister will be open 6 nights a week (closed Tuesdays) for incredible burgers, fried chicken sandwiches, fish sandwiches and so much more through the takeout window. Grab a table, order via QR code, get a text when your food is ready. Play pool or arcade games while you wait. The bar will also be open so you can get a beer or a cocktail to go with your burger, and we’ll have all your favorite sports on the big screens. And remember – you never need tickets to the show to come and have food/hang at the bar/play arcade games.

Magnificent West Gloucester Eagle

We have recently seen our eagle friend in West Gloucester, monitoring the nest from nearby. I hope you will appreciate the close up of its talons as I believe it was planning to hunt from its perch. The prey won’t have a chance.

Flashlight Apple TV

Stage Fort Park on Tuesday was busy. Apple TV’s series Flashlight was filming an episode. Lots of activity and equipment and staff were in the parking lot, beach and on the grass. It is fascinating how much goes into the production.

By the way, I did not get discovered.

Boat House For Lunch

We hadn’t been to the Boat House on John Wise Ave in Essex for a while and impulsively decided to stop for lunch on a recent weekday. It was a good decision: we were greeted promptly and warmly; seated quickly in the bar area and offered menus. I ordered the Reuben, which was very thick with meat and messy. Jim got a veal parm sandwich which may not look great in this photo, but was quite tasty. The atmoshere is comfortable and the menu nicely varied. It was good to be back there again.
