Comedian Bob Marley with a musical side of Ned Nugent & Pete Koeplin…7 Central in Manchester-by-the-Sea

comedian bob marley

This Saturday night, 7 Central in Manchester-by-the-Sea welcomes nationally acclaimed comedian, Bob Marley, for 2 very special intimate performances at 7pm and 9:15pm

These intimate performances by Marley, who typically performs for sold out crowds of 1,000+ throughout New England, were made possible by Paul Barclay, 7 Central’s new managing partner. Barclay was the founder and owner of Boston’s iconic Comedy Connection and later went on to open The Rack, which was Boston’s place to see and be seen.

A limited number of tickets for both shows are available at http://www.brownpapertickets.com

At 9pm, another local icon, Ned Nugent performs in the pub with Pete Koeplin. Their 2-man show goes until midnight and promises to be another great night of live, local music at 7 Central.

Willie “Loco” Alexander the Godfather of Punk joins the Dave Sag’s Blues Party tonight @ The Rhumb Line 8:30pm to 11:30pm 6.4.2015

dave sag

Dave says,

It’s Ragnarock and roll time as we welcome back The Godfather of Punque: Mr. Willie Alexander. Just back from a tour of Asgard, his horned helmet is sharpened to the point of no return. We’ll be cranking it out at the Rhumbline this Thursday from 8:30 on, with the likes of the ferocious Billy Loosigian on catarrh, and Steevee Chaggaris on eggbeaters. When you clock the human race with the stopwatch of history, it’s a new record every time!

willie ds rl bw
Then, on Sunday, join me for an evening of blues at the Mile Marker at the Cape Ant Marina. From 6 to 9, we’ll be serving up copious amounts of frisson with a great band featuring Chris “Stovall” Brown on gootar and vocals, the magnificent Joe Bargar on keys  and vocals, myself on bass and a drummmbler yet awakened from  a deep sleep.
Don’t forget Monday afternoon matinees at the Rose Baker Senior Center where The Old Salties honk it up for free  from 1 to 3 P.M. It’s free, like advice!

Ron Gallo & The Satellite Hearts Saturday 9pm with Julie Rhodes opening @ 8pm June 6…Don’t miss it!

ron gallo1

Ron Gallo, former frontman of critically acclaimed rock ‘n’ roll band Toy Soldiers, spent the last year in the trenches of transition and self-examination, resulting in the birth of “RONNY”, a new album/band/outlet that follows the shifting habits and rituals of Ron Gallo at any given time. His 7 year tenure in the aforementioned rock band taught him about the grit and joy that exists in the hot pursuit of his truest love; but mostly that he’s got no other choice, and was put here to make songs and sing them for people at places, all the time. He is 6’3, has large hair and was once described as “racially ambiguous.”

Backing Ron Gallo this time around, we welcome the Satellite Hearts! Pure rock ‘n’ roll, wild and dangerous, yet full of awe and childlike wonder. It’s like The Clash infused with unpolished 80’s brat punk that trekked through the 60’s while flirting with bell-bottomed psychedelics.

Gang Of Thieves Friday May 22 @ MinglewoodAtLat43 ~ You do not want to miss this band…seriously!

gang of thieves mw friday

These legendary Vermont Rockers are bringing the funky
fury back to Gloucester this Friday! If you missed them last time, this is your chance!

<iframe width=”560″ height=”315″ src=”https://www.youtube.com/embed/Mzx9Q8sfpJI&#8221; frameborder=”0″ allowfullscreen>

High energy is the hallmark of Burlington, VT’s Gang of Thieves. Their sound and energy is a cross between Led Zeppelin and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, with a funky blast of Green Mountain soul thrown in the mix. The key to their appeal is the infectious sense of fun and showmanship, delivered with a hint of spiritual and political awareness, without any of preachy self-righteousness. With a live show that will leave you screaming and exhausted from your nose to your rump, these up and coming rock stars will leave you begging for more!

These Green Mountain rockers have won over diverse audiences coast-to-coast, opening for the likes of Skid Row on the one hand, and up-and-coming jam band Twiddle on the other. The Gang was also recently nominated for “Rock Act of the Year” by the 2013 New England Music Awards, and Best Funk Group by 7 Days “Seven Daysies” contest.

“Gang of Thieves, you’ve really done it this time. Soaring guitars,
early 90s grunge style vocals, Flea level basslines, and a mix of funk and rock to make a party a rager… you [gave] us Thunderfunk and it’s just another damn level.”
-John Powell, http://www.angelica-music.com

This will be one of the most exciting shows you will see this month!

Dave says,

Our chronically underfunded musical re-education program proudly presents the return of Ms. Cheryl Arena, citizen, harpist, and vogellizing ringmaster of the third degree. I let her pick her herd of thundering magicians and it’s always a blast. So, Thursday night, her orange-jumpsuited crew consists of Mr. Pete Henderson, encyclopedic amazo, on, yes, the catarrh and vocals, Mr. Forrest “Frosty” Padgett, on the eggbeaters, and me, on the blunt instrument. Ask your veterinarian if The Blues Bash is right for you. Do not dance to excess as the miracle ingredients can cause mirth defects in your unborn notions.

Thursday Night Blues Party with Dave Sag’s Tonight~ Ed Scheer, Jack Ward, Mario Perrett and Paul Foss 8:30 – 11:30 @ The Rhumb Line 5.7.2015

dave-sag-rl-4-3-2014-1 (2) Dave says,

We got a real fine band this week: The Euphemystics. Not really new but famous in my own mind as a favorite to work with. So, let’s get going! Our fearless leader this time is the diaphanous Mr. Edd Scheer, the singing, talking drummbler par excellance. He sings, he plays, he has amusing side effects on the band and crowd.  As agent provocateur, we have the commodious Mr. Jack Ward (Cleaver): glittering glitarist, singer, and blues composter; a real pleasure. On sax, we got that former teen idol  and Playgirl® spokesmodel with his jewel-encrusted uvula: Mr. Mario Perrett. From Maine, we got the guy who put the bunion (Bunyan?) in Bangor: Mr. Paul Foss. We’re old friends. I don’t know why. Add me, the severely addlepated basis of blunt, stir well, and have a great time. Don’t miss this. 8:30 till…

Dave says,

Just back from the Sum Yung Guy food festival in Shanghai,  let’s welcome back Mr. Greg Lutrell, citizen and catarrh master. Sings like an angel, too. Mr.l spends a goodly time in China each year, but he’s home now and willing to regale you with his seasick repertoire. It’s always a pleasure to follow him around all his groovy machinations, curve balls and all. Drumming up some enthusiasm will be my old buddy Mr. Roger Brocklebank. With his hollow leg, he’ll be taking anybody’s leftovers home with him. Eat hardy and enjoy!
