I stopped and watched some surfers enjoying Good Harbor Beach on Sunday during a late morning walk. On Saturday I was lucky enough to watch tons of whales off the other side of Thacher’s Island thanks to a phenomenal trip with Cape Ann Whale Watch. That post will be coming soon. So lucky to live on the ocean!

The season has started and the fishing is getting great. Check out the Yankee Fleet’s fishing schedule and book your trip now. If you’re lucky you might get to spend your day with this kid too. I might be a little biased. Find them at yankeefleet.com or 978-283-0313
We closed out a full weekend with a really delicious dinner at 525 in Magnolia. A perfect burger with the very best toasted buttery bun and some avocado and Root Beer Steak Tips. You can check out the menu here at the link below and also plan on going to enjoy some outdoor seating as the weather finally gets nicer. Highly recommend!
It hopefully isn’t lost on anyone how blessed we are to live where we live! One of the possibly unsung heroes of our area is Halibut Point State Park. I took a beautiful walk there yesterday and look forward to going again.

Two very qualified guys would love to line up a few clients and help get some boats ready for the season. They are offering shrink wrap removal, full detailing, fueling, delivery, etc. Ryan is an engineering student at Endicott College, a mechanic, a commercial bass fisherman, and a boat owner with the necessary boating licenses. Thatcher, likewise, holds a Massachusetts Boating Safety Certificate and USCG Auxilliary Boat America Course Certificate…..as well as his STCW from the Maritime Professional Training Center in Fort Lauderdale. He has been working on boats since he was 14 and is home for a short stint in between 1st Mate jobs on Westport Yachts. He is sitting for his 100-ton license in May. Give them a call to discuss your needs.

While I don’t do it enough, I love going over to Maggie’s Farm in Middleton. It’s another fantastic member of the Serenitee Restaurant Group (along with Minglewood Harborside in Gloucester, Hale Street Tavern in Beverly Farms, 15 Walnut in Hamilton, Dire Wolf Tavern in Salem, Cala’s in Manchester, Alchemy in Lynnfield, Casey J’s Tavern in Rowley, and The Spot in Georgetown). The tuna tartare and sushi were excellent.

The Gloucester High School LAX team, and my son Finn, are in the midst of their one large fundraiser of the season and could use your help. Click the link to read more. The Gloucester community has always been so supportive of these HS teams… and it goes such a long way. “Hello! We’re running a fundraiser to ensure we have a successful season. The money we raise will be used for so many important team needs. We’re looking to our families, friends, and community for help. Please take a minute to offer your support – any amount makes a big difference. In addition to your support, you can also win some great prizes like RED SOX TICKETS, RAY BAN SUNGLASSES, JBL SPEAKERS, AMAZON GIFT CARDS & More!” Thank you so much for considering. We would be so appreciative of your help and support!
Fenway Park has released some of it’s new concession stand offerings for the upcoming season and it’s not necessarily reminiscent of your grandfather’s ballpark….. for example, here’s the Lobstah Poutine. For $39 you can enjoy this new dish at the locations listed below. Which begs the question….Would you spend $39 for Lobstah Poutine at a ballgame?
A little wind and cold doesn’t stop these kids from sailing. I have always loved the juxtaposition of large fishing vessels heading to/from a long day of work next to the delicate optis and 420s with their colorful sails dotting the harbor.

I was lucky to enjoy phenomenal music (Annie Brobst and Ryan Dupont), dinner, dessert (have you had the key lime pie?!), and one giant margarita with some pretty great friends last night while celebrating the Seaport Grille’s 17th Anniversary.
