I found my son enjoying a moment and a beautiful sunset. I was happy to watch him from afar for a bit before joing him on the rocks. Simple moments, simple pleasures.

Winter Wonderland. It’s pretty….but I’m ok with it going away now.

How about those drones? Last night was the first time that I actually noticed several drones outside my window. I’ve heard of them, and know plenty of people who have seen them, but have never caught them in action. For the doubters, let me say that I am very accustomed to airplane traffic outside my window waiting to land at Logan airport. These definitely were not planes! I watched about seven of them bob and weave over the water and occasionally head towards land and Magnolia.

Where there’s Irish Coffee….. As heard at the Beauport last night upon seeing an Irish Coffee, Chris L said “tell me Pat D is here without telling me Pat D is here.” Gave me such a chuckle. #facts

Not so much boating weather. It’s officially February and the Town Landing at the end of the Essex River is completely frozen. No boating for quite a while it appears.

Another reason for the season…. Many hours were spent on the ice this weekend.

The reason for the season….. these boys and their friends love a good day of pond skating and the extra cold temps have granted them many days on the ice already this year.

It was a foggy morning in Cripple Cove, East Gloucester the other day as some seagulls enjoyed snacking on some treats left behind in fishing totes.

I was over in East Gloucester yesterday and the sky over the far side of the harbor and Magnolia definitely caught my eye!

This guy caught me by surprise sitting on a low branch pretty close to the road yesterday morning. With no other cars in sight we were able to sit and watch him for a moment.

Magnolia sea smoke. It’s worth taking a drive around the cape to see how pretty the water looks today.
