Sunny February Sunday!

This young male seal was hanging by the dunes yesterday. Hard to keep the dogs from checking him out. The marine crew put up a sign to stay back, but the dogs….! Anyone know if the seal made it back to the ocean yet?

Annie’s been very sick, but she’s getting better everyday. Fresh air on the beach always helps!

Those two brown dogs were FAST!

Who you lookin’ at?

Sunday, on Hesperus Ave.,  there were 6 or seven turkeys perched in the trees. This guy was on the fence and close enough to get a good shot with my zoom lens. Friends have been chased by this “band of birds”, so in the car I stayed!

Yesterday afternoon’s project

I submitted this last night to the 365 Project.  My body was exhausted from shoveling, but the keyboard took very little exertion, and I learned how to put images inside letters.

Today feels like Monday AND Friday rolled into one! Enjoy the day!

Coffee!

I wanted to share this cool little item for those of you who have a Keurig. I found this  reusable filter at Bed Bath and Beyond, but it’s cheaper at Amazon (minus shipping). You save tons of money not buying the individual cups. AND it’s eco-friendly as well!

Tomorrow I’ll have to remember to put the water in before I hit the “brew” button.

Deck Prisms

In the days before electricity, light below a vessel’s deck was limited to candles, oil and kerosene lamps. A clever solution for the light problem was the deck prism. Laid flush into the deck, the prism point drew light down below decks.

I set this reproduction on a light box and shot on the same plane as the base. This was submitted for my 365 Project.
