Saturday Clean Up
The One Hour at a Time Gang’s schedule for Saturday.
Hi kids:
Hope all is well. When I was watching the Oliver Hazard Perry coming in on Monday was at the open lot facing Ten Pound Island. It is a mess. Thought a good idea to go over and clean this up on Saturday. To find the lot go down Commercial Street to the end. We need to keep this spots clean before the trash goes into the ocean.
When: Saturday: August 13, 2016
Time: 8:00 – 9:00
Where: Empty lot at the end of Commercial Street
Please bring gloves and I will supply the bags.

Kayaking in Gloucester Harbor
On Sunday, Rick and took our kayaks to Ten pound Island for lunch. It was so beautiful out there. Here a couple of photos of Sunday on the water.

Richard Arnold
While at the Marine Railway on Saturday met this nice gentleman named Richard Arnold. He was the last Captain on the Phyllis A. He told me they named the Phyllis A after his sister. Richard stated that he is one of 6 children, five boys and one girl named Phyllis. He also told me he served on the Nantucket Lightship.
Another reason I love visiting the Railways.

What a beauty of a morning for the Oliver Hazard Perry to visit Cape Pond Ice on Monday. here is some information on this ship.
- 200ft: Largest civilian Sailing School Vessel in the US
- 7 miles of rope, 160 belaying pins, 20 sails, 14,000 sq ft of sail
- Ocean-going full-rigged ship: The first to be built in the US in over 100 years
- Sailing School Vessel: Carries no passengers, all who sail aboard are crew and take active roles in sailing the ship safely
- Meets and exceeds all USCG and ABS safety requirements for a ship of her size
- Provides an opportunity for growth: personally, professionally, academically, physically & socially – building seamanship skills, teamwork, leadership, stewardship
- Accommodates 49 people overnight, including 17 professional crew

Saturday August 6, 2016 is the tournament. The tournament goes from 5 am to 5 pm, $25 per person, $300 first prize, $125 second prize, weigh in closes at 6 pm cook out starts at 5:00 pm at the Magnolia Town Landing.
