UHMMM, I’m just realizing The Red Sox Are In A Wild Wild Card Race With 15 Games Left In The Regular Season

Because the AL East is so much higher in wins than the other two divisons in the American league probably two of the three circled teams will be in a one game play-in game for the second wild card spot in the division.

I will be the first to admit I haven’t been paying attention all season long. For the casual fan- this is about to get really really good. Every game is going to have massive implications.

The Major League Baseball Wild Card Game is a play-in game which was added to the Major League Baseball postseason in 2012. … Two wild-card teams in each league play each other in a single-game playoff after the end of the regular season. The winner of the game advances to face the 1st seeded team in the Division Series.
