My View of Life on the Dock
All this talk about music lately…………..
Thanks too Peter and Vickie all this talk about the local music scene had me thinking about all the concerts I’ve been to. Aerosmith in 1979 at the old Garden is a one I won’t forget. Plus the crazy ride there on the “Concert Train”, buying Bootleg T-shirts and watching the bootleg t-shirt guys get busted. The concert was great but you could see they were having problems during the show. Drug induced, I’m sure. The next nights concert they cancelled and there was a riot in Boston and the green line station was destroyed. I found this full concert on youtube. Isn’t modern technology awesome?
Are there any GMG T-Shirts Available?
I’m looking for the white tee’s with red printing.
Any left?
I’ve had enough of all these so called wildlife experts. Our loved pets are vulnerable if they escape the comforts of our home. That’s a risk you take. We live next to a vernal pond. We have all kinds of Cape Ann Wildlife here. Such as; minx, otters, herons, egrets, snakes, peepers, banjo frogs, all kinds of dragon flies, a ton of rabbits, foxes, turkeys, Coyotes etc. Our Jack Russell “Blaze” loves it here. She loves all the smells she can stick her snoot in. We keep a good eye out for her when she’s exploring the yard. She’s chased out all the animals I’ve mentioned earlier. The Coyotes here seem to be intimidated by loud noise and aggressive behavior. I’ve run screaming after them and they ran terrified into the woods. I’m just waiting for one of them to turn around and come chasing after me. Hopefully i’ll never have to deal with a brave coyote taking Blaze away. Blaze can take after herself but there’s always something stronger in the food chain. That’s why you’ll never see me in a kayak or paddle board tempting a Great White Shark.
If Gloucester Massachusetts didn’t have the Greasy Pole.
The English are weird group of people as shown by the horrible opening ceremonies last night. Or it just maybe me. I think I saw Joey C AT 1 MINUTE AND 40 SECONDS INTO THE VIDEO.
Ok ok. after watching a few interviews with these so called Olympic stars i have to agree with Joey. So Lame. these are’nt the same Olympians they were when we we’re growing up with. the one’s that had to find a way to support themselves to keep training to make the team. these “one’s” are spoiled brats. given money to compete. aka pro’s. changing the channel now and watching Pawn Stars! good luck to the usa brats!
I know Joey has no interest in the Olympic Games. I can understand with all the pros competeing now. It takes a lot out of it for me too but it’s great background noise if i’m drawing, painting or trying to come up with an idea for a GMG post.
What’s your favorite event?
My favorite event is the Bobsledding. It’s always an exciting event. Can’t wait to see it but I can’t seem to find it on the Olympic schedule. Anyone know what day it’s scheduled for?

Happy People Dancing on Planet Earth
“Video Credit: Matt Harding & Melissa Nixon; Music: Trip the Light
Explanation: What are these humans doing? Dancing. Many humans on Earth exhibit periods of happiness, and one method of displaying happiness is dancing. Happiness and dancing transcend political boundaries and occur in practically every human society. Above, Matt Harding traveled through many nations on Earth, planned on dancing, and filmed the result. The above video, the latest in a series of similar videos, is perhaps a dramatic example that humans from all over planet Earth feel a common bond as part of a single species. Happiness is frequently contagious — few people are able to watch the above video without smiling.”

Where’s this?
I was flipping through my memory banks lately and thought of Gloucester Policeman Keith Trefry. Officer Trefry was one in a million. He’s someone i’ll never forget. I really don’t know much about him. All I know is when i was young about 12 years old and part of a neighborhood gang. Back then Gloucester “GANGS” played each other in different street sports. The worse thing that i remember was an apple fight.
Keith was always watching out for us kids back then. I remember playing street hockey at Maplewood school. Keith would stop his patrol car and wait for someone to score a goal. He then would flash his blue lights and turn on his siren. That was a big deal for us. I hope he knew how much it meant to us.
I’ll always remember his big smile.
When I came across this memorial for him a few weeks ago i thought what a great tribute to someone i knew who made a positive impact in my life.
Take Care Officer Trefry!
