My View of Life on the Dock

The next Old Sloop Coffeehouse concert will be Saturday, November 30. It will feature Boston singer-songwriter Susan Cattaneo. Susan is bringing one of her absolutely killer bands: Renée Dupuis on keyboards and vocals, Jamie Walker of The Swinging Steals on lead guitar, Richard Gates on bass, and Andrew Jones on drums.
Renée and Joe will open the proceedings.
Here is a video of Susan performing her song “Work Hard Love Harder” with a band consisting of many of the same musicians who will be at the Old Sloop Coffeehouse performance: https://youtu.be/_jvse4fxWSg

See Brooks Williams with opener Prateek at Old Sloop Coffeehouse this Friday, November 1. Brooks Williams hails from Statesboro, Georgia, the town made famous by country-blues legend Blind Willie McTell. Ranked in the Top 100 Acoustic Guitarists, he’s a mean finger-picker and a stunning slide guitarist. Plus, “he has a beautiful voice,” says AmericanaUK, “that you just melt into.” Not one easy to pigeon-hole, Brooks’ music is the love-child of country-blues and Americana. fRoots says, “Soulful Americana, full-on blues and tasty rootsy grooves. He really rocks!” Opener Prateek has been a Kerrville Folk Festival New Folk Finalist and has been nominated for Singer-Songwriter of the Year at both the New England Music Awards and the Boston Music Awards.

Ken Clark Organ Trio have been performing around New England and the eastern U.S. forthe past 15 years. “Organist Ken Clark, guitarist Mike Mele, and drummer Steve Stephan Chaggaris lean on the beat, (high stepping funk, shuffle boogaloo back beat ballad), build dynamic climaxes sprinkle in jazz solos and deliver the goods. Clark controls the B3 like a master: hip bass lines, sizzling chordal washes, feel-good riffs, funky blues lines and syncopated accents figure in the mix. The groove, the sonic power of the organ and a soulful message are a forceful combination for reaching the people, all the way from the church to the dance floor. Can’t beat the feeling.” ~ Owen Cordle, Jazz Times
