Whale Feeding — pat morss

I was also out last week to Stellwagen Bank, on 7 Seas Whale Watch, to see what the excitement was all about.

Our naturalist welcomed back this inshore Humpback mother, who had produced many calves in previous years.
It was encouraging to see a number of mothers on Stellagen swimming with their youngsters.
Bubble-net feeding was the highlight. Exhaled bubbles from the whale float krill and small fish to the surface.
The whale surfaces through the prey with an open mouth, harboring dinner in its tremandous lower jaw.
The gulls are quick to congregate for their own snacks around the swimming pool.
The whale forces seawater out through a curtain of baleen plates hanging from its upper jaw, trapping its food.
The gulls plead with the whale to open its mouth one more time.
But settling back down in the water, it swallows its catch.
This dinner is over, and the gulls wait for another of the many feeding whales around the horizon to surface.

Guess where the Lunch Lady Food Truck will be coming?

Reblogged from FaceBook

This summer, The Lunch Lady is thrilled to roll into one of Gloucester’s most beloved seasonal spots — The Cupboard at Stage Fort Park. 🌊🌭🍔

For 60 years, The Cupboard was a classic Gloucester summer tradition, serving up casual favorites for beachgoers, families, and locals alike. While no one could ever replace what it meant to this community, we’re honored to bring new life to this iconic location with the same fun, nostalgic spirit.

The Lunch Lady menu is packed with comfort food classics with our own twist — crispy chicken sandwiches, hot dogs, corn dogs, grilled cheese, tater tots, sweet treats, and more — perfect for summer days by the water. ☀️Plenty of parking and picnic tables to boot!

Stay tuned for opening day, hours, and summer dates!

Went to @Barrio Taqueria on Fifth. Place is serving up legit empanadas and they only fry in beef tallow.

Ordered three different empanadas and they were all delicious. Give em a try. You’ll be glad you did!
