Surprise “Homemade” Cannolis

Thank you Sclafanis (Washington St) for offering DIY cannoli kits! Even this Irish girl could make a passable plate of treats for Jim. Rachel Ray has nothing to worry about but I can easily assure anyone out there who might be intimidated that this kit made it super easy and fun. Not to mention delicious…….they are available at the store or by preorder in kits of 6 ($24) or 12 ($42).

🍅

Community Garden Program: Join one of six community gardens in Gloucester to connect with neighbors and grow your own food, including Burnham’s Field Community Garden and gardens in Gloucester Housing Authority and Caleb Group communities.

🥬

Backyard Garden Program: Backyard Growers builds raised garden beds for financially-eligible Gloucester residents each spring, enabling them to grow their own food at their homes. Your backyard could be next!

🥕

GrowBag Garden Program: Cape Ann residents receive a container garden (3 GrowBags) with resources to grow fresh food at home, without needing to install a garden bed. This is a great option for renters or people without traditional outdoor growing space.

Exploring

My son is like me in that he likes to go for drives and find places to explore and take photos. I never seem to find time to do it these days, but I love when he sends me photos.

Construction Ongoing At Police Station and District Court

Construction is well underway at the Main St location of the Gloucester Police Station and District Court. We did notice that the lovely little “teaching” lobster trap tree remains onsite for anyone missing the real thing. From Construction Manager W.T. Rich: Set for a construction start in June 2022, the project will consist of interior and exterior renovations to all three levels of the structure and will feature exterior envelope improvements, interior renovations, various critical building systems replacements, and the installation of an emergency generator. I am sure the improvements are much needed and will be well appreciated upon completion.
