Fishing At Little River Landing

There was quite a bit of fishing going on at Little River Landing along Essex Ave. in the rain as the tide was coming in a couple of days ago. We stopped by because I have been chasing the belted kingfisher I have spotted there a few times in the last several weeks. Sure enough, he was also fishing along with ducks and egrets. In fact, TWO of them showed up! They are among my favorites with their darting and loud chirping as they fish with superb skill. I stood there in the rain quite a while watching. This appeared to be a male/female pair and I understand they pair up for mating season then find new partners the following year.

I’m gonna be out-a balance growing only one antler.

“Red sun at night, sailor’s delight.” Really? Just before Hurricane Lee hit.
Lee wasn’t intimidating on our “lee” shore.
Swells from the east were countered by the northwest wind.
Winding down with a quiet sunset.

Thursday at the Rhummie:Ms Lisa Marie!!! Our favorite chanteuse returns for yet another night of the finest in unhealable, deep cut blooze! Yowsa! Worse, she’s draggin’ in Mr. Charlie O’Neal, who absolutely wrecked the joint last time! Kayabunga! Worser, Mr. David Andrew Moore flails away at the drums, conjuring evil and/or friendly spirits all night long. I’m loading up on Feenamint® just to make it thru the night! hours 7:30 to 10:30.
