Slice Of Slice, Fink writes: “Slice is a tribute to Americana as well as my friend Jasper Johns and his recent painting of the same name in his retrospective at the Whitney, which depicts his vision of a slice of the universe.” The scale of the painting (60×84-inches) emphasizes the significance of the watermelon in both art history and cultural history.
