Open Veterans’ Day! 12-4p
Excellent news – Mayor Sefatia Romeo Theken and DPW Directory Mike Hale are arranging to open City Hall / Kyrouz Auditorium on Wednesday – Veterans’ Day – from 12-4 so folks can see the WWII portrait exhibition. Normally City Hall would be closed that day. So if you have the day off, swing by and take a look. The show should be up through the end of November, but a lot of folks were asking about Veterans’ Day in particular.

If you have a relative who served in WWII, bring a copy of a photo of them for our Memory Wall and post it (please don’t bring originals, they won’t be returned).

  1. Great news! Wonderful that Mayor Romeo and Mike Hale made City Hall available for this. I was disappointed to miss the opening on 11/7, and heard the WW2 portrait exhibition is fantastic, moving many to tears. What a great project by Jason Grow. He has ‘touched’ many lives and offered a ‘healing opportunity’ to many of the veterans he interviewed by encouraging them to tell their stories. Having had a grandfather in WWI, 4 uncles in WW2, cousins and friends in Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan, I am grateful to them and all those that serve to protect and promote ‘freedom,’ here and around the world.
