As a kid in Annisquam, I saw many draggers coming in from the bay, the clouds of seagulls testifying to their success out on the Grand Banks. They powered up the river in their hurry to get home, and woe betide the junior sailboat skipper who thought that his Turnabout had the right of way over a motor vessel. I cannot now remember the last time I saw one of them — I really like the painting of the dragger going past the Squam light.
