Mr. Viera was recently named the “2010 Top Mentalist in North America” by GigMasters.com known as The Amazon.com for entertainers. “It’s quite an honor for me. There were almost 500 other mentalists in the running. Many of them are great mentalists who I look up to – Including the inspiration for Simon Baker’s television character in The Mentalist.”
Mr. Viera, a Taunton, MA resident doesn’t claim to be psychic. “I don’t read minds, I read people,” says Viera. “I simulate real mind reading by reading body language and non-verbal cues, by using subliminal influence, psychological suggestion, and perceptual manipulation to achieve what looks like genuine mind reading. It’s not psychic, but it’s as close as you could ever get.” By simply studying an audience member’s non-verbal communication (body language, facial expressions, eye movement, etc.) Davis can intuit numbers, words, or even pictures that exist only in audience member’s minds. Mr. Viera shows the difference between perception and reality by influencing an audience member’s perception of an event.
