Maritime Mansions at Twilight is a new series of special, limited tours that highlight significant homes that have a maritime theme in a different town of the North of Boston region each month from June through October. Gloucester’s Sargent House will be featured on Thursday, June 25 at 7 p.m. with “Reversal of Fortune: Judith Sargent & the Fight for Women’s Rights.” Hear how a loveless marriage, enormous debts, and a great love affair led to the fight for female independence. See works by Fitz Henry Lane and John Singer Sargent in a fabulous mansion near the harbor.
This tour can accommodate up to 20 participants and costs $15 per person. Please note that there are some stairs. Call ahead for handicapped/wheelchair entrance. Reservations are required.
