    1. Nice digs Damon. Then you went and left the friendly confines of Gods country for Lanesville? I’d have a hard time leaving that joint.

  1. It was actually pretty shabby before my stepfather retired and renovated it. The new owners have upgraded it again. That was my room with the big window on the third floor. It was wild there in the winter with rocks in the yard and shingles gone up the hill. It is also no good for kids with the tourist traffic there so neither of my sisters nor I wanted it after our parents died. We all lived elsewhere by then anyway in fact. Dr New bought it from us and someone from out of town has bought it now and I think is using it for a vacation home.

  2. I run by it often, and just wonder what it would be like being able to see the ocean anytime you want to…..

  3. You have a point Frank. That place was pretty lonely on the Back Shore in the winter. There were only a few families living there full time. My parents were happy there but I like the Lanesville neighborhood with a lot of friendly neighbors around and more things for children to do. Even right up the hill from that house on Souther Road where my sister lived was a lot closer knit neighborhood.
Funny thing Bernie – my parents must have spent 95% of their time in their super kitchen which was really more like a living room with cooking added. Thing is-it was in the back of that house looking out at the back yard. They had a deck out there where they could sit outside the kitchen in good weather. They hardly ever went in the front of the house where you could see Portugal if the earth were flat.
