Joe I was fascinated by your slime eel sagas; your farewell slide show is well done, and informative for those of us who are “new” and not from a fishing background. Do you know what will happen to the Princess Laura now?
And if you care to answer this, while walking on the State Pier today, I saw the Westward … very different looking vessel (to my uneducated eyes). Can you tell me something about it? Thanks.

I’m not exactly sure what type of fishing the Princess Laura will do now.
The Westward was the original Western Venture. It was previously owned by Peter Mullins and part of the company that unloaded at the old Empire building which Peter Mullins owns.
So the Westward (stay with me) was originally named the Western Venture. Then when the new Western Venture was built it was renamed The Osprey (still with me?) and now it has been sold and renamed for a third time “The Westward.”

Oh and BTW the other day there was a film crew aboard The Westward and it is being outfitted to catch slime eels.

Isn’t there a boat called Kristen and Michael that fishes for slime eels?

the Michael and Kristen is an offshore lobster boat and it ties up at the State Fish Pier across from us here.

I think there are two boat — Michael and Kristen is a lobster boat and Kristen and Michael is a slime eel boat. The guy who owns it is named Red.
