She loves the idea in theory but getting her down is another thing altogether.

OK I’m really really having a tough time with this.
Since the Bean was a couple months old she slept and put herself to sleep with her two binkies. One orange, and one pink.
The Mrs and I have been lamenting the day that we would have to take the binkies away because we figured that Ellie would never get to sleep without them, and the horror show it would be trying to get her to sleep.
Out of the blue last night she tells her mom that she wants to give her binkies to the fishies and lobsters down at daddy’s wharf.
So she came down and tossed them to the fishies without even batting an eyelash. What was supposed to be this trying time of transition into being a little girl from a baby happened in the blink of an eye.
And I’m pretty sad about it.
It’s the last thing of her being a baby, and there’s no turning back.

Adventures in Babysitting
Well, it’s official. I have Snoop Maddie Mad and the Bean til Friday afternoon without the Mrs. She is off to NYC for the Martha Stewart Show and dinner at TAO.
YIKES!
First time having the kids by myself overnight. I am up to the challenge. They will not break me.
I hope.

Honeybee Hop
Hooneybee Jump, originally uploaded by captjoe06.The Bean is perfecting her honeybee hop. This little toy has provided countless hours of fun.
At the end of the spindle there is a honeybee that travels around in a circle and the Bean jumps over as it approaches.
I know it may bore other folks but it really is amazing how much better she has gotten in a couple days. At first the spindle would just bump right into her, now she jumps over it nearly every time.
Where did the time go? She could barely stand steady last year.
