PARKING BAN AT NILES BEACH AND NEIGHBORHOOD STREETS SURROUNDING GOOD HARBOR BEACH AND WINGAERSHEEK BEACH

New beach parking restrictions are being implemented by the Mayor’s office. These restrictions include Witham Street, Nautilus Road, Eastern Point Road (the road that runs along Niles Beach) and the neighborhood roads around Wingaersheek Beach.

Barricades were placed today in several locations and we imagine more will be forthcoming.

Niles Beach Eastern Point Road is clearly barricaded and marked

No barriers yet on Nautilis Road (we expect they are coming)

No barriers yet on Witham Street

SHOUT OUT TO YOUNG CONSERVATIONISTS DIMITRI AND SVETLANA!

Svetlana, Dimitri, and Robert

This amazing family was in the parking lot at Good Harbor Beach. They had collected a trash bag full of garbage from around the lot. Dad Robert explained that because they love Good Harbor Beach so much, and go often during the summer, they wanted to give back.

Our DPW does an incredible job keeping the beach and lot clean however, it’s impossible for any one entity to keep up with the amount of litter that happens on our beaches. It takes a village, and it is people like Sveltana, Dimitri, and Robert that are making a real difference.

*Although I wrote down the names of the kids, somehow the message to myself was deleted. I think their names are spelled correctly, but if not, please write. Thank you 🙂

CAR ACCIDENT ON NAUTILUS ROAD TODAY

Beach goers and sightseers were surprised to hear a car jump the rock wall that runs along the incline on Nautilus Road this afternoon. Fortunately, no was injured. Yikes, how does something like this happen?

Hi Def Video Of The Back Shore The Day After The March Northeaster

We have many folks that have moved away to other parts of the country or simply just love Gloucester and come to check in here at Good Morning Gloucester to get their daily fix.  For those of you who miss the ocean you don’t get much more of a spectacular ocean scene than the one yesterday with the heavy surf and pristine sky the day after a weekend long Northeaster.
