Happy 4th of July! We are sure you all enjoyed the enormous amount of sunshine this week, very thankful for this bit of rain today!
We are having a 20% off sale on all our plants this weekend (July 7th & 8th). Below is a list of what we currently have in stock.
We have a great selection of hanging baskets and window boxes with annual and perennial herbs and flowers. We also have our new wave of fall vegetables ready to go into the garden for succession planting. Cedar Rock Gardens newest family members – one is the leader of the pair of juvenile Peacocks and he jumped easily over the garden wall, the other – he tried several different routes before deciding to brave the jump and follow his brother.

CEDAR ROCK GARDENS IS ROCKIN THE FLOWERS FOR MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND!

Come see the ever expanding selection of gorgeous flower and veggie seedlings at Cedar Rock Gardens. Not only are they offering annual flowers, herbs, and vegetable this year, but they are also growing native perennial wildflowers such as New England Aster and milkweed.

It was so cloudy and overcast when I was there picking up an order; these photos don’t do the garden justice. Come on down and see for yourself, Cedar Rock Gardens is bursting with beauty and fully stocked for the Memorial Day weekend.

Cedar Rock Gardens is an 18-acre farm located at 229 Concord Street in West Gloucester. The flower and veggie farm is owned and operated by Tucker Smith and Elise Jillson. Last year was their first in business with hours open to the public and it’s so exciting to see Tucker and Elise developing their growing enterprise. This year they have expanded seedling offerings (see the “read more” at the end of this post for a complete list of plants offered) and have devoted even more fields to pick-your-own flowers .

We’re looking forward to having Elise and Tucker on our podcast this weekend. When you see the two, wish them congratulations. Elise and Tucker became engaged this winter!

MAGICALLY WONDERFUL HARVEST PARTY AT CEDAR ROCK GARDENS

Snapshots from Elise and Tucker’s fabulous and fun harvest party, just getting underway. Where earlier the produce had been planted, long tables with tantalizing pot luck offerings were arranged. Bales of hay with planks laid across made for practical seating. I had to leave Cedar Rock Gardens early to attend the Cape Ann Plein Air gala, which Catherine covered. Scroll down to see her photos posted earlier today. The Rockport Art Association was overflowing with art enthusiasts, friends, and family and it was so exciting to see beautiful scenes from all around Cape Ann rendered by these master painters. Congratulations to Karen Ristuben, the project manager, and to all who helped make Cape Ann Plein Air a fabulously successful event. I do have to say though that Cape Ann’s own JEFF WEAVER rocked the house with his stunning paintings of the waterfront and downtown.

Thank you to Elise and Tucker at Cedar Rock Gardens for a super year in the garden. This was the couple’s first season opening the garden to the public and they did an outstanding job. Cedar Rock Gardens are a welcome addition to a fantastic and growing group of local farms. Their organic nursery and farm are brimming with a wonderful array of fresh flowers, produce, and seedlings. Every one of the plants from their nursery grew beautifully for me. Cedar Rock Gardens is closed for the year but I am so excited to be working again with them next year and will definitely be enrolling in their CSA 2017. See you in the spring!

I had to ferry around several car loads of plants this afternoon and Elise was a fantastic help.
