My View of Life on the Dock
Wish the deer was not so far away but this cutie waited for me to go and get my camera. Always try and keep my distance so they do not get stressed.

We often drive north to the Newburyport area and therefore find ourselves going through Rowley regularly. We’ve been curious about Three Sweet Peas Bakery on Main St in Rowley and so we stopped by yesterday. WOW! It’s a small shop just jammed with goodies of all sorts in nearly every cubby and corner. There are baked goods, sandwiches, prepared foods, frozen foods and more! There’s a small seating area in case you want to linger. The staff is friendly and helpful. You’re going to need to plan a little time just to look around and ponder your choices. We came home with a scone, sugar cookies and cheese ravioli! It is certain to become a normal stop on our trips in that direction.

“Footbridge to the Heavens” …Every once in a while I come across a scene that is beyond words to describe. On this particular morning, I was taking photos at Good Harbor Beach when the sky opened up and cast these beautiful cloud patterns over the footbridge. There was a lady walking her dog alone on the beach which added to the overall feeling to this beautiful scene. Enjoy! You can see more of my photography at windowoflight.weebly.com
Thanks and have a great day!

Cool Blues…

Chief Eric Smith reports that the Gloucester Fire Department responded to and extinguished a structure fire on Harvard Street on Friday afternoon.
On Friday, Feb. 10, at approximately 4:25 p.m., the Gloucester Fire Department received multiple 911 calls reporting smoke coming from a home at 10 Harvard St.
Engine 1, Engine 2, Engine 3, Rescue 1, Ladder 1, and Car 3 responded and arrived at the scene within minutes. Crews arrived to find a working fire burning under a porch of the home and quickly worked to get water on it.
The fire was knocked down by 4:37 p.m.
The origin and cause of the fire remains under investigation. There were no reported injuries. Damage was contained the home’s porch.
The Essex Fire Department covered Gloucester stations during the fire.
“Crews responded and knocked this fire down quickly, which is fortunate because gusty winds today could have made this fire grow rapidly if our response had not been as timely,” said Chief Smith.

Community theatre’s All-Stars will showcase talent in streaming performance
Proceeds to benefit Village Hall

The Annisquam Village Players, the country’s oldest continually running community theatre, will stream its annual winter Cabaret show at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, 2023, to benefit the upgrade of the Annisquam Village Hall’s auditorium for stage presentations.
Tune in as your friends and neighbors attempt to make you smile, laugh – maybe even cry (or roll your eyes!). The event is free, though donations are welcome and encouraged to help support the upgrade of the Village Hall’s sound system.
Each winter the Annisquam Village Players, who’s history dates back to 1863, entertain the community with an engaging Cabaret show. Typically held in the Annisquam Village Hall, this show delights sold-out crowds with songs and skits performed by local thespians and musicians. Again, this year the decision was made to perform the Cabaret virtually because of Covid concerns, giving audiences the wonderful opportunity to enjoy this fabulous show in the comforts of your own home!
Any Donation is welcome, but a Footlights Sponsorship available with a Donation of $100 or more. At this level the AVP will deliver (locally, within a 35-mile radius) a bottle of prosecco for you to enjoy while watching the show. All donors will be recognized on the AVP website as soon as the donation is received. For more information, please visit: AnnisquamVillagePlayers.org.
Donations can also be made by mailing a check made out to the AVP, c/o Mike English, Annisquam Village Players, P.O. Box 411, Gloucester, MA 01930.
To watch the show:
On Saturday, Feb. 18, starting at 7:30pm, go online to AnnisquamVillagePlayers.org and click the ‘SHOW’ link on the homepage and enjoy! It’s that easy!
The show link will be available on the day of the show and can be watched on demand thereafter.
The Annisquam Village Players is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Donations are tax exempt to the extent the law allows.
