Rockport Rockport Illumination Fund Plea
Letter to the Editor:
We are a small but mighty group but we need your help. We love how much the town has embraced “Illumination Weekend”. This year’s show is August 13, at 9:15. This year we are trying to have even more lanterns put out around town to make the town even more festive. Maybe we’ll even break a record! We will be having children’s activities at Firehouse trust, sponsored by a Mass Cultural Grant and Institution for Savings. Families will be able to come and paint their own lantern to hang. We need help keeping the show as big as it is. Every little bit helps. If you are interested in helping please send at tax-deductible check to: Rockport Illumination Fund Inc. c/o Susan Collins, 16-b South Street, Rockport MA or you can buy a $50 raffle tickets to try and win a Ken Knowles painting. Raffle Tickets are available at Katie’s Gift Shop or Nine Lives Café. Your donation is tax deductible, or call 546-9566 and ask for Susan.

GOOD HARBOR BEACH STORM SKY DRAMA AND PIPING PLOVER UPDATE
Stopped at Good Harbor to check on the Piping Plovers on my way into work this morning. No babies yet. I spotted three adults, feeding in the tidal flats, grooming, and giving every bird of another species besides their own the business, in no uncertain terms. Big raindrops began to fall, I don’t trust the manufacturer’s claim that my cameras are waterproof, and work was waiting. First light at Good Harbor is always different, depending on what is happening in the sky above, and it is always beautiful.

This year’s Schooner Challenge (to benefit the Essex Shipbuilding Museum) featured Adventure, Ardelle and Thomas E Lannon, gentle breezes and more singing than usual. The video was shot from the deck of Adventure. All music by guests and crews.

Ridiculously good car singing
Audra McDonald, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, and Jane Krakoski jump in the car with Lin Manuel Miranda and James Corden for 3. Sometimes nothing really matters more than rocking out in cars. Whatever your music. Have fun.
Hmmm. Joey, you could do this, drive around Gloucester (no chanteys if you’re there)
