47th Annual Christmas Caroling
Sunday, December 16th, we had our 47th Annual Christmas Caroling sojurn to Seacoast Nursing and Rehab. Facility, McPherson and Curtis Clark Elderly Housing Facilities, When we started in 1971 we had 3 people, yesterday we had between 35 and 40 and the Trolley took us to the destinations. Before we left the house, we had a lot of great food thanks to my lovely wife who spent hours cooking and hosted the party from start to finish. (I married well!!). As I had recently had a 3 day stay in the hospital, I was not able to play guitar or sing (some say the sound improved), but everyone stepped up: My daughter Cheri, who is among other things a music teacher, took over as musical director and did a fantastic job, Dave Proper, did a great job on the piano, as did Pete Favazza on guitar. I just sat there enjoying the music and watching my 3 granddaughters dancing and singing and bringing smiles to the residents. Santa Claus was a standout, dancing with all the ladies while a few of them tried to kiss him. After the singing most of us came back to the house and had coffee and desert. Thanks again to all who made it possible to not have to cancel this year. Wait’ll next year;
Bob Whynott
