You know summer is over when all fun has been suspended in the Mathews’ household for some pre-holiday sprucing up! Â The paint cans, ladders, rollers and advil have been all readied for our next few weeks of painting projects. Â Fun will resume when the living room, dining room and upper hallways all have a fresh coat of something on them!

Tea lovers beware!

So every morning a go to Dunkin Donuts and get an XL Tea.  I know that I should save the money and the environment by making my own tea at work, but it saves me from having to worry about having skim milk at work and it is a “luxury” I give myself.  TODAY….I walked into DD to get my XL tea and the lovely young lady behind the counter explains that they no longer sell XL tea.  You can only get a large and it comes in the Latte cup.  So looking around at the Coffee lovers getting their XL Coffee in their XL cups I say to her…so you still have the cups for and XL Coffee…why can’t you just give me an XL tea in that cup?  Her only answer was that they don’t sell tea in those cups anymore.  I get to work and my co-worker is enjoying her XL 24 oz coffee and I am feeling a little jealous lol!  You would think they would want my extra 50 cents every day for my extra 4oz of water….so thanks DD.  You will save me about $20 a week and save the environment 7 XL cups a week cause I’ll be switching to a nice big 24oz contigo mug and bringing my own skim milk to work!

Fall scenes
Sunday drive…
Got up a little early this morning and decided to take a little “Sunday drive” up to Vermont to check out the foliage. Â Got up at 4am and headed out on a solo journey with my camera. Â Stopped through Newburyport first to check out the massive moon but wasn’t low enough yet so I headed on up to Woodstock VT to Jenne Farm. Â Â Here’s a little phone grab…now I am onward to Route 100 to see what things are looking like!

Out of the darkness, into the light
It’s been a crazy busy week but it’s finally….FRIDAY!! As we look forward to a beautiful long weekend ahead, I share with you a couple of favorites of mine from Eastern Point Lighthouse. Get out and enjoy!!

Fall favorite
Second to the warm lazy days of summer, FALL has become my favorite time of year.  Two of my daughters were born in Oct and Nov and so we always enjoyed fall decorating.  My porch and yard are already decked out with cornstalks and pumpkins and looking forward to adding a few “ghouls” to the mix for halloween!   In celebration of fall…I share with you one of my favorite fall images! Enjoy!
Wicked waves
This weekend’s weather brought with it some wicked waves along the back shore. Â Â We were going to walk the breakwater but decided we rather enjoyed being dry lol!
Little visitors from Kentucky
This weekend we have my godson Jason and his family, Paige, Ethan and Riddick visiting from Kentucky. Â After traveling half the day yesterday, we took them for a walk down to Annisquam Light to expel some energy on the beach and check off the first thing on Ethan’s list which was “visiting a lighthouse”. Â On Sunday the kids will be seeing their first Red Sox game and what a perfect first game to attend!! Â Loving the special gift they brought us too!
Halibut Point Sunset
Might be a little while before we see the sun so here’s a Halibut Point Sunset to get you through the weekend!
Plum Island Sunrise
Another one of my favorite sunrise spots is Parker River Wildlife Sanctuary in Newburyport. Â
