Full Moon Over Good Harbor

Thatcher and I followed the moon a little bit the other day. I had to pick Thatch up at a friend’s house in Rockport and when he looked up and saw the full moon he knew he was in for a trip home the long way. Both of the boys have been good about humoring me when it’s time to take photos…..and they’ve been known to snap some of their own as well.

Took a Little Walk with GMG the Other Day

I love the new GMG stickers. I get lots of comments on the ones I have stuck on my water bottle and coffee mug as well. We took a beautiful walk the other day! It is so nice when the winter weather cooperates for long walks in nature.

Lunch at the Seaport Grille

Oh my word….the Lobster and Avocado BLT at the Seaport Grille was amazing! The fried clams and steak tips didn’t look so bad either! Check out their website and menu here: https://seaportgrillegloucester.com/

You can find the Seaport Grille at 6 Rowe Square in Gloucester at the Cruiseport and right off of Main Street.

Of note is that the delicious lobster comes right from Capt. Joe and Sons!

Suit Up

He’s always happy to be playing, but that’s a look of a kid who wishes he could be back getting dressed in a locker room with his team rather than in a cold parking lot. One of the many challenges of COVID hockey. Well aware that things could be worse.

Cape Ann Motor Inn

We love quick “stay cations” at the Cape Ann Motor Inn and it’s perfect beachfront location at the end of Long Beach. Walking by the other day made me miss summer more. Looking forward to booking a quick trip as soon as beach weather is upon us…. although it is beautiful any time of year.

Blue

With a son named, Thatcher, I have taken my fair share of photos of Thacher’s Island and its Twin Lights….but, if I’m being honest, it was all of the shades of blue that caught my eye the other day.

The Annisquam Coach and Its Trip to South Dakota

Maybe you saw Paul Horovitz’s photo of the beautiful Annisquam Coach (click here to see it) or heard Paul talking about it on Sunday’s Podcast. Thanks to the work of the Annisquam Historical Society you can learn much more about the coach, its history, and its journey. Thank you to Betsey Horovitz for keeping me in the loop and for her work with the historical society and to David Teele for his wonderful writing about the stage coach and previous AHS entries.

Here is the link to Annisquam Historical Society, please visit the page to learn more about the coach and other fascinating Annisquam historical stories and their “Notes from the Firehouse,” but I have also included screen shots of their pages for easy viewing.

Paul also gave a lovely shout out to Tally’s for their work in the transportation of the coach to meet the large moving truck who has since transported it to South Dakota.

Stay tuned for more about the work being done on the coach and its return trip home.

And a Snowman

I love this so much…..and it makes me sad. I can’t help but imagine that mom and her son building a snowman while waiting for their husband/dad to come home.

T-Mobile Brady and Gronk Big Game Ad: Evidently Banned

As written on T-Mobile’s YouTube video of the ad they had planned to air during the Super Bowl, “We love the big game. The rivalries. The drama. The build-up. The athleticism. The sportsmanship. The ads. For the last eight years, T-Mobile’s gone big for the big game – Bieber, Tebow, Harvey, Drake, Snoop & Martha, Handler & Silverman, Anthony & Mama Doris and even a Kardashian. But we’ve never been banned. Until now. We made this amazing ad starring the amazing Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski. Even after editing, the spot was still banned “based on the … protected telco rights deal.” So, watch and decide for yourself … what does the “official telco sponsor” not want you to see?”

Swimming Ducks

I sat in the rain and watched these ducks play in the racing tide the other day for longer than I’m proud to admit. When I first got there the ducks were racing out the Annisquam River, swimming against the current, ducking under the pilings, and heading back out again. It was hysterical to watch them play! My video doesn’t do it justice…but, it made for some good laughs. Silly ducks. Click the link to see the video:

Budding Chef

Finn has always kind of liked to cook….especially when it comes to baking with my mom….but all of a sudden he has been asking to cook dinner once a week or so. Several months ago he started making some new fun things for his lunchbox….his signature snack is a bell pepper stuffed with cream cheese and everything-bagel seasoning. He has been making all sorts of things in the air fryer…especially fried pickles. Suddenly, however, he has kicked it up a notch and is making the main course at dinner as well. A couple of weeks ago it was steak with a butter basil sauce and last night it was feta, cherry tomatoes, basil and special seasoning over penne pasta. I could just used to this!

Dinner Date

Finn has been asking for a tuna avocado maki roll and truffle fries from Minglewood Harborside for weeks now. We’ve ordered take out twice recently, but he wasn’t home either time. So, last night while Thatch was on the ice for practice, Finn and I ran over for a quick dinner. With an added order of wings along with his fries and sushi….and the Bruins game on one TV with the Milwaukee Bucks (he’s got a thing for #34 Giannis Antetokounmpo) on another, Finn was a happy camper. I had my go-to favorite, the Gloucester Roll, and it was phenomenal as always!
