That Storm Rolled In Quick

We were prepped and ready…..drinks in hand and toes in sand….to enjoy the sunset last night and then that storm rolled in (click post to see time lapse video). Fortunately, after sitting in the car for a bit, the storm passed and it turned into a beautiful evening and a perfect sunset.

Which Local Ice Cream Shop Wants to Add Flights to Their Menu?

Which local ice cream shop wants to add flights to their menu with customized flight boards? I saw a place out of town that offers these and think it’s brilliant. While I’ve enjoyed beer flights and bourbon flights, etc. I’ve never seen an ice cream flight. I did a quick Amazon search and saw some available…. I bet there are some craftsmen who make wooden signs, cheeseboards, cutting boards, etc who could make some custom ones for local shops as well.

Striper Fishing

While the 2025 Commercial Striped Bass Fishery was closed as of August, 6th the number of boats in a consolidated little area off the back shore was indicative of a pretty good bite just a few short days before it closed.

Martha’s Vineyard, Yes Please

It goes without saying how much I love summer in Gloucester….and I am lucky, in the company of my amazing boys or great friends to seize every opportunity to enjoy all that Cape Ann has to offer, but…..when someone asks if I want to go to Martha’s Vineyard, the answer is still always going to be “yes.” There are so many great things to do, but certainly relaxing after a busy day on the porch at the Harbor View Hotel is always a treat.

Shipyard Tavern

Unbelievably, after looking forward to their opening for so long, last night was the first time I made it over to the Shipyard Tavern in Essex. It was so great and I am already looking forward to going back very soon. Everything we ordered and shared was really, honestly phenomenal and the service, decor, and ambience was exactly what I needed after a long day at work. I look forward to going back and sitting outside on the deck in the near future. If you haven’t been…make a point to go!

Don’t Worry, They’re OK!

Joey and Katelyn narrowly escaped the jaws of a scary Mola Mola (sunfish…or “baby wheel”) CLICK POST to see the hysterical clip of the guys with the thick Boston accents who stumbled upon a mola mola and had NO IDEA what it was). But, don’t worry…they’re ok.

Live Music This Week at The Rhumb Line

Here is this week’s live music schedule at the Rhumb Line. As always, live music seven days each week! Nine bands in all.

Deck Weather

Deck weather is always better than sweater weather. I was so happy to enjoy a couple of hours at 51 Rocky Neck on Saturday. The Hugo Spritz is, for the record, delicious.

Greasy Pole Sunday Bloopers

Greasy Pole Sunday Bloopers. While we all love to see the winner grab the flag…and none of us want any of the walkers to get hurt, the bloopers are always a fan favorite as well.
