Happiest of birthdays to this guy! The fearless leader and ringmaster of The Rhumb Line family! Over many, many years he has created a live music venue/restaurant/bar that SO many have called “home.” He has brought people together and in doing so has created so many beautiful friendships, memories, and reasons for celebration. He has given so many a stage to perform on and a barstool to sit on when they needed it most. What would we do without the Rhumb Line? What would we do without Fred Shrigley? Feel free to share your favorite Rhumb Line story as a gift to Fred….. and come say hello tonight for Bluegrass night at the bar!

I Spy a Bride. Congratulations to newlywed couple. I didn’t want to be too creepy but was happy to snap a quick photo from afar of the bride enjoying her special day at Tonno.

Here’s the live music schedule for the Rhumb Line for this week. Yesterday’s St. Patrick’s celebrations were so much fun! Thanks to all who helped to celebrate with us and THANK YOU to the Bordellos! Way to keep traditions alive in Gloucester, Fred Shrigley! We’re so lucky to have the Rhumb Line

A tale of two cocktails. It’s a common brunch decision….Bloody Mary or Mimosa. Several of us had brunch at Oak to Ember on Sunday and it was delicious. Some of us ordered Bloodies and some of us ordered mimosas… you really can’t go wrong.

Good Night, Wonson Cove

Live Music all week at the Rhumb Line. 9 shows over 7 days…as always. Here’s the schedule for the week of March 10th. Also, next Sunday is St. Patrick’s Day and the Bordellos will be playing from 4:00-8:00

Reed between the lines….if these can be considered reeds. There’s this stretch of road, off the beaten path in Byfield, that always catches my eye.

Music this week at the Rhumb Line. As always, live music 7 days per week…9 shows in all. The Rhumb Line is at 40 Railroad Ave in Gloucester…conveniently located right across from the train station if you are coming from out of town.

In thinking of a new year and a new budget, if you only had enough “extra” cash flow each week/month to splurge on one….which one would it be?
A. Shopping (clothes, toys, nonessentials, luxury items)
B. Entertainment (dining out, drinks with friends, concerts, movies, etc)
C. Travel

Fishing hole.

When life gives you blackberries….. you make delicious blackberry smash bourbon drinks. The bartender at Mile Marker 1 nailed this delicious cocktail. We only had time for one quick drink and a really wonderful beet salad before heading off to see the Bob Marley: One Love movie (also pretty good) and I’m so glad we made a point to stop by MM1.

I had the Marinated Haddock with Molho Vilao last night at the Azorean and it was nothing short of delicious!

Goose Cove is always a favorite place for a winter walk.

Props

All washed up. It’s always sad for lobstermen to lose gear, but it sometimes makes for a pretty picture. Lots of little doggie footprints from pups who had been investigating the scene.

Single Swan.

Birds of a feather…. I caught this gaggle of geese as they flew in formation over Plum Island the other morning.

It’s hard not to stop, pull over, and enjoy the view when things are as pretty as this. The super warm temperatures didn’t hurt either. We took a moment to reflect….on this reflection.
